Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Brian Bates and I have been passionate about photography, especially nature photography for 30 years. Also, I am available to photograph sporting events in and around the Naperville Illinois area. Please contact me if you have an event that you would like photographed and I will try to fit it in my schedule. I do not charge to shoot your event, but do ask that the paritcipants be told that photos will be available at this site. I can be contacted through my e-mail: batesphoto@wowway.com.
All images on this site are copywritten and may not be downloaded, printed or published without written permission. Purchasing prints here is a simple matter and I would like to personally hear from you if you are not delighted with the results. Please e-mail me at the above address if you are less than happy with the prints you receive.
I have been published three times in Chicago Wilderness magazine. I have also been successful in a local nature art and photo show and have been awarded: 1 people's choice, 4 honorable mentions, 2 firsts and 4 best in show ribbons.
Some of the nature photos have been slighlty altered in Photoshop, but only to improve how they present. Once in a while I will apply a drybrush technique to a shot I think will look good with it. The images that have been altered have that fact noted in the caption. My goal is to be true to what was originally shot, because capturing the image as it occurs is the biggest challenge.
I am exploring the possibility of offering limited edition prints of some of my better nature images. Each print would have a certificate authenticating the print number and edition size. Please vote on your favorites by adding your comments to the images you like best.
